Preeti – now you have added to my to-do list because I am going to have to write an article about this post. What a great example of preparing your blog to make the most of guest posting. Are you sure you’re not a pro blogger? Thank you SO much for your wonderful post. It’s a resource I’ll be proud to have under the ‘Start Here’ section of the blog for months (and years!?!) to come.

And now I must go read your other guest post. Did you know I’m transitioning from vegetarian to vegan myself? So, I’m happy to learn about this other blog which is new to me. Headed there now!

    Preeti,

This is a wonderful post idea(o:

I’m so happy for you. Guest posting is fun. The first time I was asked to guest post, I couldn’t stop smiling for a few seconds. You truly are inspiring others to do and be better. That means you’re doing your part in changing the world for the better! Uhhhh…. You still rock!!!

  3. S. Ali Myers - Soulful Body & Mind says:

Oh yeah, great post at Holy Cow. I read it yesterday. Nice tips for the beginner….and veteran!

@Jean Congrats on converting to “veganism”.

    Jean,

Thanks for hosting, I learned a lot and enjoy doing the guest posts. I will take you up on your words that my post will be in your “start here” section! Super!

I am almost vegan, just can not give up yogurt and occasional cheese but working on it. You will love Vaishali’s Vegan blog, she is great!

  5. Abubakar Jamil says:

    Preeti,

Good that you wrote this post and I got to read some good articles by you.

  6. ZenGirl says:

    Ali,

Guest posting can be fun, and great learning. I am not sure if I am changing world, but I know changing myself first is better.

You rock too! Is this our new tradition? 🙂

  7. ZenGirl says:

    Ali,

You read it yesterday already and did not comment? 🙁 Shame on you for being so quite! (j/k)

I made that post for beginner vegans like me, you, Vaishali and other Vegan-pros may not need it but would like that you still read it.

  8. S. Ali Myers - Soulful Body & Mind says:

You rock! I guess it is(o:

As far as the coupons, she clips them out of the Sunday’s paper. Also, our local grocer gives coupons on the back of their receipts.

  9. S. Ali Myers - Soulful Body & Mind says:

Shame on me for not commenting. I do not read too many blog postings but I do try to comment when I find the post of interest or use. I have you on my reader so you fall into my “reading” blogs (o:

    Preeti,
This was an excellent post all around. I learned so many things about you from your prior posts.

I’ve been to VBN and left a comment there.

    Thank you!

  12. Vaishali says:

Preeti, you’re doing such a lovely job on this blog. Congratulations on completing a year, and I hope to see many more wonderful, life-affirming tips from you.

  13. ZenGirl says:

    Angela,

Me, a marketing genius? Ha, if that was true, I would be on twitter and Face book and A-list blogging club.

I am just broke, slow blogger who has still lot to learn but I just happen to be lucky to guest post at once (It was not planned) in two blogs I really like. Thank you for making me feel special though.

  14. ZenGirl says:

    Ali,

🙂 I guess we established that routine well.

Thanks for sharing coupon strategy. Somehow I always forget my cut coupons at home, I guess it helps to remember things.

  15. ZenGirl says:

    Ali,

🙂 I am glad I am in your “reading” list. I suppose I can rock and love disco, but rap? I have yet to try it. Do you?

  16. ZenGirl says:

    Betsy,

Actually, it was other way around, I asked them until they said yes! 🙂 I am true Gemini who is master of none and Jack of all trade. But, I do really have many interests. Thanks for checking out my guest posts and commenting there too.

Can you send me an email? My gmail is acting strange.

  17. ZenGirl says:

    Angela,

Thank you and liking and reading my prior posts, I am bit partial to them myself 🙂

Yes I replied to your comment on VBN, send me an email with any plugin issues. I know a little bit that I am happy to share, any time.

  18. ZenGirl says:

    Vaishali,

Thank you for very kind comment, that from someone I admire. Imagine I started reading your blog before I even had a blog, makes me realize so surreal! Thank you for always providing yummy and thoughtful inspirations to me and kind opportunity to guest post on your blog.

  21. Sibyl-alternaview says:

Hi Preeti: Congrats on your 2 guest posts. I am definitely looking forward to checking them out. I like that idea of the changes that are small and doable. What a great idea. And, of course it is quickly approaching the end of the month and I am looking forward to the spending challenge update 🙂 All great ideas and great posts. So glad that I found your blog 🙂

  22. Jean Sarauer says:

You ARE special, and here’s to learning things together! I tweeted for you, and others retweeted your post today so you were on Twitter without even being on it. That makes no sense now that I read it, but I know what I’m talking about 🙂

  23. ZenGirl says:

    Jean,

Thanks to you and others who tweeted the post, without that help, twitter will not even know me. Thanks and I think I know too what you are talking about.

  24. ZenGirl says:

    Marko,

It is a good reminder for me as well. Because of my recent No Spend experiment, 101 changes will have to wait until August.

  25. ZenGirl says:

    Evelyn,

Thank you for liking my both guest posts and $300 month challenge too. What do you mean you have no choice?

I like your blog too, I am glad I found you through Jean’s site. I will be visiting more !

  26. ZenGirl says:

    Sibyl,

I never planned the guest post at once, it just happened naturally. I like small, doable changes as they are easier to do and keep at it. Small steps to a destination!

Yes, next and final No Spend Month update is coming up on Monday, after I tally up with a summary. I might make it close!

I am glad we found each others blogs 🙂

  27. ayo says:

    hi preeti,
i love this idea of promoting your blog to visitors who may come as a result of your guest posts. why didnt i read this earlier lol!!! i have a guest post scheduled for publishing tomorrow morning.
well this definitely a good practice.
    Thanks for sharing this.
enjoy the rest of the day.
p.s. i will check out the blogs

  28. ZenGirl says:

    Ayo,

I never saw this as a promotion, I can understand why you, Jean, Angela and other think it might. I suppose it is.

Thing is once I visited a guest poster’s site and I was lost as I was new to that person’s blog layout and I wished blogger had some tips laid out for me/new visitor to help highlight the posts, so I did same I wished for others.

I want to make it easy for people to find stuff so they do not have to dig, I suppose it could be seen as a promotion.

    Take care.

  29. Thu Nguyen says:

    Hello Preeti,

Thanks for commenting over on my guest post on A Meaningful Existence. It is actually my second as well. So in reading this I found solace in the nervousness I was feeling. Also I’m glad you liked what you read, that was great you said something. Now here I am visiting yours.

This blast from the past concept is pure genius. I was thinking of ways to dig up my posts as well but you’re really good. Thank you for reaching out. I found another blogger to connect with.

    Hoping to learn more!
    Thu

    Preeti

What a wonderful idea to prepare an introduction for readers of the guest post site. I had not thought of that. What this space as I hope to have my first guest post aired today.

It is also a lovely way to sharing some of your older posts.

    Well done

  31. Karen says:

    Hi Preeti,

Wow, I’m awed at your prolific writings! You have a standing offer to guest-post on my site any time 🙂

I think it’s great that you have been challenging yourself to grow – those challenges sound like actions that you can take today that will have a huge impact on your future life. Good for you for making the decision to not be satisfied with the status quo and are doing something more.

    Karen

  32. rob white says:

You are a hot ticket, Preeti. You are really going the extra mile with the good of all concerned. You simply can’t lose.

  33. ZenGirl says:

    Thu,

You did a great job guest posting at Karen’s site. Welcome to my site, that is so nice of you to do.

Yes, I wanted any potential new readers (and regular) ones to showcase what my blog is about as I write on many subjects, it is easier to see for them. I guess it seems to be a great idea as people are mentioning.

I am glad we connected too. Thanks for visiting Thu!

  34. ZenGirl says:

    Marion,

Thank you for liking this idea, which lot of people mentioned about it. 🙂 I guess it must be good then.

Yes, I wanted to make easier for new and regular readers to showcase my older post, sort of like blast from the past.

Let me know when your guest post airs so I can check it out.

  35. ZenGirl says:

    Karen,

Thank you, you are making me blush. It would be a great honor to guest post at your cool blog!

Karen, I am doing what I enjoy and writing diverse topics that are close to my heart, if I am growing with it, so be good if not I am still having blast and learning here. Although, I never planned to have 3 guest posts so close together, it just happened and I am happy now for it.

  36. ZenGirl says:

    Rob,

Me, a hot ticket? No, I am same old me, people are kind enough to let me do guest posting and I am learning a lot from them. Thanks for kind words as you know I value your opinion a lot.
